My grandmother worn a locket with a watch around her neck and I always admired it. In the 1800’s women often pinned a watch to their bosom or dangled it on a chain.
Did you know the wristwatch became popular with the bicycling fad (or Dandy Horse- as the bicycling was known early on as). I suppose it was difficult to ride a bicycle with a watch dangling around your neck.

Wow! I have just discovered that all a few copies of my new book “A Beautiful Prison” have two Chapter 16’s. The mistake happened in publishing. However, that is the sort of thing that makes a book collectible. If you have one hold onto it! It will be corrected in the next printing.
